We're promoting and supporting community events across Dorset. In this section you can find information about current and past events, workshops, cultural events, gatherings etc.
If your event is not on here, get in touch with us and we'll see what we can do.
Dorset India Association (DIA) aims to develop community cohesion by organising cultural programmes performed by many non-faith and faith groups and to engage with the wider community in raising awareness regarding social inclusion, shared traditions, and their health and wellbeing. They liaise, collaborate and engage with other similar voluntary and charity organisations to promote good relationships and to support community cohesion. They organise events and festivals for the advancement of Indian Art and Culture, Heritage and Education.
Come and join us at the Celebrate West Howe lunch on Sunday 13th August at the Henry Brown Youth Centre at 1pm.
It’s a free feast from around the world, as part of the Celebrate Dorset series of events.
Our food, prepared by local community members and groups, will be from Afghanistan, Mexico, Romany culture and the Caribbean, with Mexican dancing, music and lots of information about these cultures.
If you’d like to join us, please email me with the number of places you’d like to reserve - Martha.Searle@Bournemouth.gov.uk
The One World Festival celebrates the diversity of cultures in Dorset through World food, music and cultural activities. It is the brainchild of local resident Khalique Miah and his friends, the 'Speak Easy' Group, who would like to encourage networking and socialising with ethnic minority groups and the community.
We would particularly like to encourage participation in some of the activities – either to perform music, dance or song or to bring a stall and promote your own organisation.
Ask your colleagues and contact us if you would like to come and take part – for booking email: firstname.lastname@example.org
– and pass this information on to anyone who you think might be interested.
If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to make contact - we look forward to hearing from you.
