The Borough of Poole is reviewing its Equality & Diversity policy: "Fairness for All" and is inviting every resident to attend an event on the 20th Oct 2015 from 9.30 to 12.30 at The Factory 14 Alder Hills Poole BH12 4AS.
They are extremelly keen to hear the voice of all those who use their services and want to ensure they can offer equal access to their services, to information and to ways the public can influence decisions. They also want to improve peoples trust that they will tackle discrimination and support communities to become strong, cohesive and inclusive.
The service users and the community themselves are the best people to tell them how they can do this better (within the limits of our resources).
The event will:
- Acknowledge the Council’s equality and diversity achievements over the last few years
- Review the existing Borough’s Fairness for All outcomes and see if they are still relevant commitments
- Share good practice and challenge us to do better
They welcome your support to be a critical friend.
They are trying out a new venue/social enterprise run by BCHA up at The Factory on Alder Hills. There is parking there and it is on bus routes U2, 14 and 15 or look at www.traveline.sw.com for travel planning. It is a short walk from Alder Hills Sainsburys. They are also offering lifts so please get in touch if you will struggle to get there or if you are willing to offer a lift let us know.
Please let us know if you can come and if you have:
- any specific requirements
- or suggestions of who else we should invite.
If you are unable to make it and can’t send a substitute we are happy to take feedback in other ways too – by email, by phone or by coming to a meeting you are holding. Please just get in touch on 01202 633067
