Once again we find ourselves saddened by the tragic events in London over the weekend. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families. Now more than ever we need to unite across our communities with people of all faiths and none in denouncing violence and creating a better society based upon mutual understanding and respect
Dorset Race Equality Council would like to express our condolences to the families of all those who were killed during the horrific attack in Manchester on Monday evening. Likewise, we send well-wishes to all of those who were injured and directly impacted by this cruel act which appeared to deliberately target young and innocent people. We are heartened to see scenes across the country of people of all faiths joining together in solidarity with the victims; offering mutual support and standing in defiance against terrorism.
As we have seen in the past, there are some who will seek to use news of such events to fan the flames of anti-Muslim sentiment in our society. It is in moments such as these that it is more important than ever to stand united with our Muslim friends and neighbours in denouncing hatred of any kind. If you experience or witness any form of anti-Muslim incident we urge you to contact us and report it to the police.
Dorset Race Equality Council together with our super star Martha Searle, would like to say Big Thank You to everyone who made Celebrate Dorset - Boscombe event truly special! We had amazing time with amazing people and amazing food! Looks like the whole project is going to be amazing!
